What is your background, i.e. are you new to aquatics or have you been involved for a number of years?

Two years previous background in retail.

 

If you are already working in aquatics, what do you enjoy about being a teacher or coach?

I enjoy coaching and helping our athletes achieve their goals and improve their overall performance, I also feel that it is really important to help give our young teenagers another goal in life.    

 

What were your reasons for attending the course?

So that when teaching on poolside I can feel confident that I have recently completed and passed a course that operates the training for this sport.

 

What did you find most interesting about the course?

Meeting other people that share a similar passion to me with coaching, and also picking up different techniques and activities.

 

What part of the course was most beneficial to you?

The overall information about what we were going to learn, the content of the packs.

 

How will being on the course help you achieve your goals?

If I pass then it will be another qualification and this will help to ensure that I get taught the correct skills and how to teach them.

 

Has anything you have learned changed the way you work?

It has made me more confident about what and how I teach which I feel is a big benefit to the club and most importantly to our athletes.

 

What advice would you give to those considering a UKCC course?

Go for it!
